Product Update | SmartPad2 Inspection Program & Performance Upgrade

At XOTHRM, product safety, performance, and trust are foundational to everything we do.
After an extensive investigation conducted with our internal and third-party engineering teams, we identified an isolated manufacturing anomaly that could, under specific conditions, create a potential safety risk. While our manufacturing partner has confirmed this is not a systemic issue, we are taking a conservative, customer-first approach.
What This Means for SmartPad2 Owners
Out of an abundance of caution, we are asking all SmartPad2 customers to stop using their device and return it to XOTHRM for inspection and a component replacement.
We understand this may be disruptive, and we appreciate your patience as we work through this responsibly.
What We’re Doing
As part of the inspection process, every returned SmartPad2 will be upgraded with our next-generation heating element at no cost.
This upgraded component delivers:
- Faster heat-up time
- More efficient and consistent heat distribution
- Improved overall performance and reliability
Think of it like upgrading the engine in a car—the exterior stays the same, but performance, responsiveness, and reliability all improve.
Timeline
We currently estimate that the inspection and upgrade program will begin in March 2026.
This timing reflects the required regulatory review and approval process for the upgraded heating element prior to installation in an existing certified device. This step is expected to take up to 60 days. Once approved, we will move directly into production and begin upgrading units in the order they are received.

At this time:
- Please do not use your SmartPad2
- No return action is required yet
- We will notify you as soon as we are ready to begin processing inspections and upgrades
